Hey my friend welcome to the latest edition of my newsletter, thanks for being here! If this blesses you, share it with someone who needs it. They can sign up free at thelowkeychristian.com/newsletter. God bless you, now let's get into it.

This week's theme: Identity.

Today is practical. Less talking, more doing. Get a pen.

TEAR OFF THE LABELS

You've been wearing labels that were never yours.

Some were given to you by other people. A teacher who said you'd never amount to anything. A parent whose approval you could never quite earn. A friend who made you feel like the backup option. An ex who made you feel unlovable.

Some you gave yourself. "I'm the anxious one." "I'm bad with money." "I'm the person who always messes things up." "I'm not the kind of person God uses."

Some were given to you by the enemy. "You're too far gone." "You're damaged goods." "You'll never change." "God tolerates you but He doesn't actually like you."

They've been stuck to you for so long that they feel like skin. Like they're part of you. Like removing them would mean losing yourself.

But they're not you. They're labels. And labels can be torn off.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!"

2 Corinthians 5:17

The old has gone. Not "the old is fading gradually." Not "the old will eventually go if you try hard enough." Gone. Past tense. Finished.

God didn't give you a renovation. He gave you a new identity. The person who failed? That was the old creation. The person who was rejected? Old creation. The person who couldn't stop the cycle? Old creation.

You are new. Right now. Today. Not when you feel new. Not when you act new enough. Not when you've proven yourself. Now.

The labels are lying to you. They're telling you that you're still the old version. But God has already written a new name over you. Chosen. Loved. Forgiven. His.

Today we're going to do something about it.

YOUR ONE THING FOR TODAY

Get a piece of paper. Write down every label you've been carrying. Every negative name you call yourself. Every identity that was given to you by someone else or by your own inner critic. Write them all down. Don't filter. Don't edit. Just get them out.

Then underneath, write this: "The old has gone. The new is here. I am God's masterpiece." (Ephesians 2:10)

Then tear the paper in half. Right down the middle. Throw the top half away. Keep the bottom half. Put it somewhere you'll see it.

This isn't just an exercise. It's a declaration. You're physically separating yourself from the labels that have been weighing you down. It takes 30 seconds. Do it now.

God, I've been wearing labels that You never gave me. Names that were spoken over me by people who didn't know my worth. Names I gave myself in moments of pain. Names the enemy whispered when I was too tired to fight back. Today I'm tearing them off. I don't want to be defined by my past anymore. I want to be defined by You. You say I'm new. You say the old is gone. I'm choosing to believe that today, even if I don't fully feel it yet. Rename me, God. Amen.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

OVER TO YOU

What's the one label you've been carrying the longest? Hit reply and tell me. Then let it go.

God bless you, my friend.
