It's Sunday.
No teaching today. No deep dive. Just one verse, sat with slowly, at the end of a week about the thing that comes out of our mouths.
This week's theme: Speech.
Today, we rest with what David prays at the end of Psalm 19.
PSALM 19:14
David closes one of the most beautiful Psalms in scripture with a single sentence.
"May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer."
Notice what David does. He asks God to be pleased with two things. What he says. And what he thinks about.
Speech and thought. Mouth and heart. External and internal. He knows that the words leaving his mouth today will only be as clean as the meditation of his heart underneath them. So he asks God to look at both.
That is the prayer for today. Nothing else.
You have walked through a hard week. You have thought about your voice. You have thought about your inner voice. You have thought about the small unkind comments and the three second gate and the words that become things. Some of that will have surfaced things you wish it hadn't. That's fine. That's the work.
Today, put it all down.
You do not have to fix your speech in one week. You do not have to build a perfect gate. You do not have to catch every reflex. What you have to do today is pray one sentence. The same sentence David prayed three thousand years ago at the end of a Psalm about the heavens declaring the glory of God.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight.
He can handle the rest.
That is the whole message of this Sunday. Whatever your voice has been this week, whatever it slipped into, whatever it built, whatever it broke, hand it to him today. Ask him to shape what leaves your mouth and what sits in your heart underneath.
He is a rock. He is a redeemer. He does not need your speech to be perfect. He just needs it to be his.
Rest today. Speak little. Listen more. Let this week land.

Pray Psalm 19:14 once today, out loud if you can.
That is enough. There is nothing else to do.
Father, thank you for this week. Thank you for the things you have surfaced about my speech, and for your patience with me. Today I pray David's prayer. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight. You are my rock. You are my redeemer. I rest in you today. Amen.
