This week's theme: Fear.

It's Sunday. We've spent all week pulling fear apart. Looking at it from every angle. Teaching. Stories. Hard truths. Practical steps. Today we're doing something different.

Today we rest.

A PSALM FOR THE AFRAID

I'm not going to write a long reflection today. Instead, I want you to read these words slowly. Not to study them. Not to analyse them. Just to let them sit with you the way a warm blanket sits on tired shoulders.

"The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
He refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Psalm 23

Read it once more. Slower this time.

Notice what David says in the middle. "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil." He doesn't say he avoids the dark valley. He walks through it. But he walks through it with Someone.

"For You are with me."

That's the whole week summed up in five words. The valley is real. The darkness is real. The fear is real. But so is the Shepherd. And He hasn't left your side for a single second of this entire week.

Whatever you've been carrying these past seven days, whatever fear surfaced when we started digging into this topic, I want you to know that God saw every moment of it. Every 2am thought. Every knot in your stomach. Every time you pretended you were fine when you weren't.

He saw it. And He's still here. Leading you beside quiet waters. Refreshing your soul. Preparing a table for you even in the middle of the battle.

Today, don't fight. Don't strive. Don't try to figure anything out. Just rest in the presence of the Shepherd who has never once lost a sheep.

YOUR ONE THING FOR TODAY

It's Sunday. Give yourself permission to do less today. Read Psalm 23 one more time before bed tonight. Not as a study. As a prayer. Let each line be a conversation between you and God. When you get to "I will fear no evil, for You are with me," pause there. Stay there. That's your resting place today.

Lord, You are my Shepherd. I don't need to figure everything out today. I don't need to be strong today. I just need to follow You. Lead me beside quiet waters. Refresh my soul. Walk with me through whatever valley comes next. I'm not going to fear the darkness because You are with me. Your goodness and love have followed me all week and they'll follow me into next week too. Today I rest. Not because I've earned it. But because You told me to. Amen.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

FROM THE ARCHIVE

To close this week gently, I made a video called 6 Signs The Holy Spirit Is Comforting You In Your Anxiety. It's a peaceful, reassuring watch for a Sunday.

OVER TO YOU

We've spent a whole week on fear. What's the one thing that will stick with you? Hit reply and tell me. I read every single one.

God bless you, my friend.
